Letter from the Principal
Congratulations to Ms. Douglass' and Mrs. Merten's second graders on their wonderful Solar System projects and presentations last Friday - every year these projects delight and amaze, and the students did a wonderful job sharing them with family members.
Our annual Halloween Costume Parades will be this Fri at 2pm. Details about costume changes, parade route, and class parties can be found below. Both school parking lots will be closed at 1:45 to set up the parade route, so our neighbors at Montview Presbyterian have graciously offered the use of their parking lot for our guests. Principals for the Day, Wren Pritchett (K) & Sophia Black (3rd), will lead the parade on the backs of two of my horses, Sir Silverfrost and Bugsy! Plan to join us if you can and pray for good weather!
The 5th & 6th grade girls will be participating in "Girl Genius" - a workshop from ENDOW (Educating on the Nature and Dignity of Women) - this Friday morning. The workshop will start with 8:00 Mass, so please make sure your daughters arrive a little early so they can be at church by 7:55am. Thank you for your help.
Thanks again to the parents who helped with the 8th grade Open Speech Meet last weekend - Kelly Costin, Steve VanSky, Mary Ocampo, Suzi Chierchie, and Howard Bartlett - and to all who helped put on the Middle School Fall Ball at Blessed Sacrament on Friday evening. The students collected toiletries for the Samaritan House and made over $2000 at the door & on concessions to help fund their class trip in the spring. Congratulations and thank you to teachers Ricardo Ocampo, Erin Besperat, Eddie Kane, Charlie Dorchester, Jeanette Rabaglia and Chris Rusin, to spouses Evan Besperat and John Rabaglia, to parents Kate Hakala, Dirk Turner, Alfie Marquez, Kristina Formica, Bernique Abiakam, Victoria Delacruz, and Andrea Petties, and to the Student Council and all the students for their help and hard work.
God Bless-

Halloween Parade: On Oct 29, students will begin costume changes at 1:30pm (1:40pm for preschool). Preschool will parade around the preschool parking lot at 2 pm & then line up along the sides of Elm to cheer on the horses & K-8 students.
K-8 will meet in the gym at 1:45. From the gym, K-8 will parade to the nursing home, around the block and down Elm, then back to the gym.
8th grade will lead the parade & Kindergarten will bring up the rear.
Each grade will have a boys/girls room to change in with parent/teacher volunteers. Students cannot wear violent costumes or bring any "weapons" that accessorize their costume.
Costumes should comply with the relaxed dress code policy - girls cannot have spaghetti straps or short skirts. Face paint & hair dye should be minimized; this should be a costume that can be thrown together in 5-7 minutes.
Remember that both school parking lots will be closed so that students can parade in these areas. Parking is available at Montview Presbyterian and adjacent streets (excepting Eudora & Elm).
Classroom parties will begin following the parade at 2:30pm.
